Spirit of Tug Mcgraw Lives Through 'Hold Em Tourney
Major Sponsors have joined on to support The Tug Mcgraw Foundation's annual event, "An Evening with Tim Mcgraw & Friends". The event will be held on November 3rd, 2006 at The Crystal Tea Room in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Motorola has joined the long list of national sponsors that have supported the annual Texa Hold 'em tournament run by Mcgraws foundation.
Tug started the foundation back in 2003 to help the survivors of brain tumors and their families live comfortably by funding quality care and raising public awareness about brain tumors.
Many former professional athletes participate in the event. Jim Mcmahon of the 1985 super bowl winning Chicago Bears, Steve Carlton, baseball hall of famer, former Phillies catcher Darren Daulton, and Trump Apprentice Kelly Perdew are a few of the celebrities expected to appear and play in the tournament.
Bob Costas will return as the master of ceremonies and will recognize this years honorees Jim Thome, of the Chicago White Sox, Tom Maldoon, and Bill Giles, who will be honored for their work in to help improve the quality of life for brain tumor patients.
Anyone attending the gala will have the opportunity to win the grand prize of a seat in the 2007 World Series of Poker.
Last year over 400 guests attended the event and were treated to not only the poker tournament, but live entertainment, and a live and silent auction.
