Taiwan Could Pass Macau in Gambling Revenue, If Legalized
Las Vegas insiders believe that Taiwan could have a bigger impact on the global gambling market than Macau, which has become the World leader in gambling revenue.
Taiwan is flirting with the idea of legalizing casino gambling, and if that change occurs, which many people believe will happen, Taiwan could bring in more than $3 billion in revenue.
That estimate is according to Larry J. Woolf, who manages thirteen casinos in North America. He believes that the Taiwan market would eventually pass both Las Vegas and Macau, and become the World leader in casino gambling revenue.
Jonathan Galaviz, a partner at Globalysis Ltd., a Las Vegas based hotel and casino consulting firm, had this to say about Taiwan, "Taiwan's market potential for casino gaming revenue, in the context of large scale integrated resort and tourism development, is significant."
Amazing is already spending $50 million for the first phase of a hotel project in Penghu, with plans to expand into a casino resort should they win a casino license.
