Tax Cuts Come About In Pennsylvania Thanks To Gambling Revenue
Pennsylvania lawmakers knew that when they legalized slot gambling in the state back in 2004, that it would lead to help for people of the state. That relief is now in sight.
A tax cut that has been made possible by slot machine gambling in Pennsylvania, will lead to help for farm and home owners. The amounts of the cuts will vary, but it could be $169 on average, according to a story from the Associated Press.
Over the course of time since 2006 when slots were first introduced in the state, $905 million has been generated. That figure has allowed the state to estimate that $612 million will be given out in the tax cut.
Slot machines are just the beginning in some states. Florida started with Las Vegas style slots, and is now considering expanding not only throughout the state, but also has a compact in line for the Seminole Indians to bring blackjack and baccarat to the state.
Revenue that is generated from gambling has been a major help in other states as well. More and more states are turning to legalized gambling to help with their budgets in this tough economic time.
