The Feel Of Vegas Hits Colorado Casinos With Expanded Gambling

The state of Colorado already had some of the best skiing in the country. Now they have something else to offer vacationers, full time casino gambling.

On Thursday, state casinos held parties to celebrate twenty-four hour gambling. The parties were attended by thousands of people who were excited about the prospects of gambling around the clock.

"It is not only the gambling that we are excited about," said patron Gregory Hemlen, "but it is the idea that we will have more nightlife and will have options after other places have closed."

The casinos themselves are overwhelmed with enthusiasm for the possibilities that twenty-four hour gambling can bring. The state can now compete with some of the biggest gambling destinations in the country including Las Vegas and Atlantic City.

The state is also looking forward to what they will receive from the deal. The extra revenue generated for the state will go to state universities. It is estimated that an additional $30 million annually because of the expanded gaming hours.

Another change that has been made in the new law allows limits to be raised from $5 to $100. This means that gamblers who do visit the casino will be able to play at higher stakes, which will also increase revenue for the casinos.
