The Venetian In Las Vegas Getting Closer To Poker Show Debut

Las Vegas used to be a town that was built on gimmicks. Comps for hotel rooms and food were handed out freely in hopes of drawing the high roller gamblers to the tables. Over the past ten years, however, the landscape in Sin City has changed a bit.

The Venetian Resort Hotel & Casino is trying to take advantage of the popularity of the game of poker, and they are doing so in the form of a gimmicky show. The Real Deal! will make its debut at the casino on October 14th.

If the show succeeds it will do so largely on its premise. They will bring professional poker players together with real people through audience participation.

Around ten professionals have signed on to compete in the tournament that drives the show. The audience will be able to interact throughout the ninety minute tournament.

Prizes will be given and one lucky audience member could win $1 million. That prize is a long shot to ever happen, however. Each seat in the theatre will be set up with a device for the audience member to interact.

"People who come to Vegas want to play poker, but obviously they can't play in a big game with the likes of Doyle or Phil Hellmuth. But, in this show, they actually can," said Daniel Negreanu.
