Town Council to Consider Casino Ballot Question
According to published agendas, the Town Council will debate a resolution Tuesday requesting that the General Assembly approve a non-binding referendum asking Johnston voters whether they want casino gambling. Casino gambling remains illegal in Rhode Island, but that could change.
Legislators are considering a constitutional amendment that would allow the Narragansett Indian tribe to operate a casino.
