Vince Neil Gambles On Drinking And Driving, Ends Up Arrested
Vince Neil, the Motley Crue frontman, has a long history and reputation of being a party animal. On Sunday, Neil took the gamble of drinking alcohol and getting behind the wheel of his Lamborghini.
Neil paid the price on Sunday when he was arrested on drunk driving charges shortly after 11PM near the Las Vegas Strip. To those who have followed his career, the arrest was not surprising, but it does go against recent statements made by Neil.
"There's just a point in your life where you kind of stop, that's what happened to me," said Neil, explaining to The Associated Press how he had stopped abusing alcohol. "There's other things in life than just drugs and alcohol."
Neil had a reputation of living the stereotypical rock star life when he and Motley Crue were at their height. Neil recently released a solo album, and the "Crue" have played various concerts in recent years. Even though he is older, Neil still often exhibits the type of reckless behavior that was on display Sunday night.
In the interview with The Associated Press last week, Neil explained how he admired the rock stars of today for doing things the right way. He referenced how drugs and alcohol do not have to be a prime factor in having a successful career in music.
The next step for Neil will be to appear in court on September 27th. No charges have been filed as of yet, but Neil did spend the night in the Clark County jail. On Monday, Neil posted bail and was released.
