West Virginia Women Share $276 Million Powerball Lottery Ticket

Powerball Lottery was following the lead of Mega Millions. Earlier this year the Mega Millions jackpot reached almost a record number before it was won.

As for the Powerball Lottery, it had not been won in nearly two months before Saturday night's drawing. That is when eight ladies from a tax office in West Virginia all had their lives change in an instant.

Linda Fominko was the representative of the group that bought the winning ticket. The ladies all put in five dollar each, and when the winning numbers were announced, they were all in different locations.

One of the ladies, Paula Pride, did not even find out about her good fortune until Sunday. She was on a church retreat in Kentucky.

The winners will take the lump sum payout, and will receive $11.9 million after taxes. They must now guard against the evils that could come along with suddenly being wealthy.

While all of the women insist they will not change, even going as far as to say they will not quit their jobs, there is still the possibility that the new found money could present certain problems.

"Everybody is definitely worried about this. Too many things can happen. We're trying our best to stay calm and keep our patience and get help from everybody that can help us," said Fominko.
