WinnaVegas Casino To Receive a Facelift Costing $30 Million
Around the country, casino after casino are expanding, and part of the reason is the ever growing popularity of resort style casinos. WinnaVegas Casino has joined in the expansion party with plans to spend $30 million in renovations.
The Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska owns and operates the WinnaVegas Casino, which is located three miles west of Interstate 29, near the Missouri River.
The expansion is set to include an increase in slot machines from 648 to 950. Also, the expansion would include space for a poker room and additional table games.
The big project of the expansion is a 100 room hotel equipped with a convention facility. The eventual plan is to turn the complex into a major resort destination.
WinnaVegas general manager Silas M. Cleveland Sr. stated,"This project is just the first step in a greater expansion."
The new design of the casino and hotel will feature natural colors and materials, to go along with the theme of the nearby Missouri River.
The casino originally opened in 1992, and it will remain open while the construction is under way. Construction is set to begin later in the summer and be completed by the end of this year.
