Wireless Gambling Devices at Venetian Casino in Vegas
The Venetian Resort Hotel Casino in Las Vegas will be the first casino in the country to test hand-held gambling devices. The technology is one that Atlantic City casinos are tracking closely. Earlier this year, gambling executives and manufacturers began lobbying New Jersey lawmakers in an effort to get hand-held gambling machines legalized for Atlantic City casinos.
The Las Vegas Sands Corp. today announced a long-term agreement with Cantor Gaming, an affiliate of the New York financial services company Cantor Fitzgerald, to provide the devices at its Venetian casino and at the Palazzo Resort Hotel Casino, which is currently under construction on the Strip. Last week, Cantor Gaming became the first company licensed by the Nevada Gaming Commission as a manufacturer, distributor and operator of a mobile gaming system. "Mobile gaming will add a new dimension to the player experience and provide increased revenues to casino operators," Cantor Gaming president Lee Amaitis said.
