Woman Accusing Roethlisberger Of Rape Quits Harrah's Casino Job
The woman who has accused Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger of rape has now quit her job at a Harrah's casino hotel in Lake Tahoe. The woman had continued to work at the hotel even after her accusations against Roethlisberger and fellow employees.
The woman quit the job because of the way Harrah's was treating her, according to her attorney. There had been friction between the woman and the hotel ever since the woman filed a civil suit against the Steelers quarterback.
Although no criminal charges have been filed against Roethlisberger, the woman is seeking over $400,000 in damages. She has also named Harrah's in the suit and is seeking $50,000 in damages from the hotel.
According to the woman, she was working as a VIP host at the Lake Tahoe casino hotel. Roethlisberger was staying at the hotel while playing in a charity golf tournament being held in Lake Tahoe. The woman claims that Roethlisberger lured her up to his room and then forced her to have sex.
Roethlisberger and his attorney have attempted to have the case thrown out. They feel there is not enough evidence for the case to proceed, but Judge Brent Adams refused Roethlisberger's request.
Now, the quarterback's attorney is asking the state Supreme Court to overturn an earlier ruling by a district judge. The judge would not move the case from Reno, to Douglas County, which is closer to Lake Tahoe.
