Woman Wins $5 Million Jackpot While Gambling In Oregon Casino

It is one of the rare occasions that happen inside of casinos where everybody else around stops and comes to check out what happen. It almost seems as if time stands still for the period of a half an hour or more.

Friday night, it happened at the Three Rivers Casino in Florence, Oregon. A woman playing a penny slot machine hit the jackpot on the machine of over $5 million, and the best part was that she did not even recognize what she had just done.

"I was sitting there playing on my machine when all of a sudden I hear loud bells going off. I knew somebody had hit something big just by the sounds, so I went to see what happened, and there she was, $5 million richer,' said Delores Jackson, who was playing on a neighboring slot.

The woman, who has remained anonymous up until this point, was playing the Penny Wheel of Fortune slot machine. She had bet $4 on the spin that made her rich, and originally she did not know what she had won.

At first, she thought maybe she had hit the machine for $60. Then, as time went on and the bells went off, she thought maybe $600. When the attendant showed up, they informed her that she had hit the progressive jackpot of $5,284,316.

The jackpot instantly became the highest progressive jackpot ever hit at the casino. Since Three Rivers opened in 2004, two other major jackpots have been paid, but neither of which topped even $2 million.
