Women Gambling With Same Frequency As Men
It used to be that five to ten men would get together and sit around a table playing cards and smoking cigarettes all night.Whether that table was in a casino or a dining room, one thing was always missing. Women.
Now, it is not only men that are enjoying the world of gambling. Women have gotten in on the act and are now gambling with the same frequency as men.
Women are not sticking to bingo and slot machines, either. They are playing games typically reserved for men, table games such as poker, craps, and roulette.
"What you are finding is that women have educated themselves through the Internet on the various forms of gambling that are available. Many of these women have played games online, learned them, and then took that knowledge with them to local casinos," said Larry Terwander, a research analyst.
The game of poker has exploded on to the scene and women have not only learned the game, they have excelled at it. Some experts believe that women players even have the advantage on the poker tables over their men counterparts.
"Women instinctively are better at reading people then men. When they sit at a poker table they have an easier time figuring out who is bluffing and who is not," said Henry Trubalonsky, a poker player from Miami.
