World Strip Poker Championship to begin Saturday

There is a new meaning to the words "No Limit Texas Hold 'em", as on Saturday Irish bookmaker Paddy Power plans to kick off the inaugural World Strip Poker Championship.

The event, which started out as a joke, will be held at Cafe Royal in london with players literally gambling for the clothes on their backs.

Paddy Power's Darren Haines told Reuters on Friday, "We are holding the competition because we got so much interest from our spoof April Fool this year about a strip poker competition that we thought,'why not?' let's do it for real."

Paddy Power has come up with strict rules for the games play, each player will start with five articles of clothing, which will be provided by the organizers of the event. Also, each participant will be given a towel to sit on and to wear once they are out. But they can only put the towel on after they are completely naked. Any inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated the organizers claimed.

Over 12 countries will be represented by up to 200 poker players. The players will be battling for not only the 10,000 pounds, but also the "Gold Fig Leaf" trophy and the honor of being called the World Strip Poker Champion.
