Wyandotte County Will Know Casino Operators On September 19th
The process of picking the right developer and casino operator for a casino in Wyandotte County, Kansas, has been a long one. Several different developers have entered proposals, and only one will be chosen.
The state has announced that the decision will happen on September 19th. Before that announcement will be made, the Lottery Gaming Facility Review Board will be reviewing casino management contracts.
Five proposals are currently on the table for consideration. Four have already been submitted, and one will face its final review next Monday. The review board will be busy sorting out the proposals.
Wyandotte is not the only county that will be getting a new casino in the state. Ford County, Cherokee County, and Sumner County, are also getting casinos. Decisions on those operators will be made in August and September.
May 27th is the deadline for contracts to be reached between the Kansas Lottery Commission and casino contracts. If deals are not in place by then, the application will no longer be considered. The contracts are all expected to be worked out by the deadline.
