Online Bingo Consultant Speaks Out
Talk about the game of bingo usually conjures up images of elderly people spending a leisurely night at the local church, hoping to win a nice cash prize but mostly just there for some pleasant socializing. But make no mistake. Bingo today is still a big business.
According to the American Gaming Association, charitable organization games including bingo generated $1. 9 billion in the United States during 2004. At places like casinos, bingo is considered a "loss leader" - not the headliner of games, but still valuable in drawing in customers to indulge in more lucrative gambling like slot machines, poker and blackjack.
However, it has to be done right - from selecting the best bingo callers, to setting the timing and prize values for bingo sessions, and using the latest technology to keep players buying cards. That's where Sharon Smith comes in. She owns Creative Bingo Solutions, a Palm Springs consulting company that advises non-profit groups, Indian tribes and other casino operators on how to best capitalize on the enduringly popular game.
