Another Online Gaming Employee Arrested While Visiting the US
Another London gaming employee was arrested and detained while visiting the US early Thursday morning. This time it was the executive of Sporting Bet, Peter Dicks. No further details have been released.
Much speculation is being made about the situation. Some say a trip to the US by any gaming employee is now an impossibility, others, like PartyGaming Chief Executive Mitch Garber, think it is not right what the US DoJ is doing.
"If the Department of Justice has objections to our business or thinks it is illegal," Garber said, "we would hope that we would be notified."
Sporting Bet, which is a much larger company than BetOnSports, saw its stocks on the London exchange freeze while other gaming stocks plummeted.
Playtech, an online casino software provider, said it does not provide sports betting software and that it is not an online gaming operator in an attempt to deter the dropping prices of its stock.
