Anti-Internet Gambling Bill Unlikely to Pass This Year

Voted Top Online Casino Several Years in a Row!

Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist revealed a very unpublicizied statement last week that announced his plans for Senate actions once the Senate returns from their August recess. Of news to the gambling industry is that the anti-internet gambling bill was said to have the lowest priority.

Frist announced that the most important issues which the Senate will address when they return are: airport security, Homeland Security, defense appropriations, the confirmation of John Bolton as U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, authorization of military commissions for terrorist combatants consistent with the Supreme Court's Hamda decision, the line item veto, medical patient's privacy records, and small business health insurance.

Frist then listed his lowest priorities for the legislative session and mentioned internet gambling. Although still heavily opposed to the issue, Frist said that it will most likely not be seen by the Senate even though the bill was overwhelmingly passed by the House.

The Casino Gambling Web could not contact any sources who could verify these plans, but we are watching the progress of the gambling bill closely and we will be sure to report any new information as soon as we get it.
