Anti-Internet Gambling Legislation May Pass This Week

Voted Top Online Casino Several Years in a Row!

Although many gambling related news sources would like to believe that the internet gambling bill is dead, sources on Capitol Hill say that new anti-internet gambling language has snuck back into the Defense Authorization Bill.

Still no script has been read on what language will actually be included in the bill, but the speculation is that Senator Frist has put langauage into the bill almost identical to what was in the bill that passed the House earlier this year.

If that were true the bill would make it a federal offense to process funds from banks to an online gambling casino. Whether that would include funding Neteller, Firepay, and Citadel, three third party billing services used for paying gambling casinos online, is unknown.

If passed, the bill would go against World Trade Organization rules that say you cannot prohibit stop another country's income if it is a large part of that country's economy. The US claims it does not violate that rule due to the 'moral exception' clause. The WTO however says if it is a 'moral clause', then why is horse racing and state lotteries exempt from the bill.

Also disregarded by the US politicians are several polls overwhelmingly showing a desire for no anti-gambling legislation, and the poll by CNBC that showed over 90 percent of Americans in favor of regulating internet gambling, not banning it.
