Gambling raids on establishments providing electronic video gambling have become commonplace across the US. The latest of these raids to take place occurred in Texarkana, Arkansas on this past Friday night.

Police went into six different arcade halls and arrested seven people from these gambling facilities. Among those who were arrested were store owners and managers that were working at the time of the raids.

The arcades had been the subjects of an undercover investigation that began back in February. Undercover officers were paid out in cash for their winnings on the machines at least twice at each of the six arcades.

"Gambling hall owners have felt that they found a loophole in the law in a lot of states," said Gaming Analyst Steve Schwartz, "Unfortunately for those running these gambling operations, the authorities do not believe that the games they are running are legal."

The expansion of legalized casino gambling throughout the country has also been the cause of many raids. Governments that had previously overlooked the gambling taking place in bars and taverns began to investigate these operations.

In addition to the arrests, around 300 machines were seized in the riads on Friday night in Arkansas. The machines were taken apart shortly after the raid. Financial records and over $50,000 in cash were also seized.
