Casino Gambling In Kansas Resting With The Supreme Court
The state of Kansas has done everything possible to ensure that there will be legalized casino gambling in the state. They have four counties waiting to build facilities that will generate gambling revenue.
The plans are currently on hold, however. Even though they won a ruling by a judge that would allow for the casinos, a Supreme Court ruling is still hanging in the balance.
If the Supreme Court agrees with the former ruling, the casino plans would then move forward and the exact locations of the casinos would be finalized.
Should the ruling come down against the legalized gambling, there could be trouble for the industries future in the state. The ruling could come down at the next scheduled court date on June 27th.
In the meantime, the state will sit and wait to find out if they will move forward on the casino projects. The projections for the revenue that could be created is in the hundreds of millions of dollars.
The money would be used much like in other states, where budget deficits are growing. States that have already legalized casino gambling have began to use the money to help with the budget crunches.
Sumner, Cherokee, Wyandotte, and Ford Counties are all holding their breath waiting for the Supreme Court ruling. They are the counties that would receive the casinos should the ruling be upheld.
