Chamber Calls 2006 Legislation 'Good' Casino Business

Ernie Fletcher has said he will call the legislature into special session if legislators reach a consensus on how to provide tax relief to those small businesses. The 2005 General Assembly overhauled Kentucky's corporate income tax. But the overhaul included provisions that put a punishing tax burden on certain businesses. Specifically, the chamber said the combination of the alternative minimum tax and the entity-level tax put too great a burden on small, closely held businesses.
