The gambling raids around the US continued on Tuesday when a restaurant in Dade County, Tennessee, was raided and the owner arrested on charges of running an illegal gambling operation. The operation involved video poker machines.

Pappy's BBQ on Highway 299 in Wildwood was the location where an undercover officer went into the restaurant and started playing video poker machines. Once play was complete, the officer was paid out in cash for the funds that were won. The officer then went and received a warrant.

When the officer returned to the scene, owner Lewis Daniel Dobson was arrested. Dobson was charged with commercial gambling, firearms possession, and several other counts. Eleven video poker machines were seized in the raids.

During the search of Pappy's, investigators were able to seize gambling records that could support their claim that illegal activity was taking place. There were several patrons who were stunned by the raid and ensuing arrests.

"We go there a couple of times a month to eat dinner," said one customer who wished to remain anonymous. "The food is good, and we never have thought to play the video machines, but I guess what they were offering is against the law."

Many states have began to crack down on illegal gaming machines. With lawmakers around the country expanding legal gambling options, the law enforcement agencies have been called on to make sure that all gambling revenue is flowing through legal casinos and lotteries.

Internet cafes have become popular across the country. The cafe offers customers an option to buy Internet time. Then, that time can be used to play various gambling games. Authorities in many states have determined that these Internet cafes are illegal.
