FBI Now Trying To Find Seized Poker Gambling Money in Pa.

It is common practice for the county in which illegal gambling machines are found to receieve the money that was confiscated in the police stings. The FBI gets involved when that money goes missing.

In Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, the FBI has served subpoenas to a couple of courthouses to try and find out where the money has gone from gambling machine seizures.

While it is not on record how much money is generated in a year from the seizure of the machines, the FBI is looking into where and how that money was distributed. The thought by the FBI is that there was theft of the money.

This is not the first investigation into the county court system. For months there has been an FBI probe into connections between President Judge Mark A. Ciavarella, Senior Judge Michael T. Conahan, and Butler Township attorney Robert J. Powell Jr.

The FBI has remained silent on the investigation, claiming they do not want to jeopardize the Federal investigation. The investigation into the two judges and the attorney come after millions were made in county conracts.
