Federal Police Officer Arrest Shows Reality Of Gambling World
Authorities like to walk around and point figures at people who are involved in various violations of the law. Another arrest of a federal police officer on Friday proves that these authorities are just as guilty of following the cash when gambling is involved.
Brazilian police arrested thirteen people on Friday for their involvement with an illegal gambling gang. One of the people that was arrested was a federal police officer who was giving information to bar owners about possible police operations.
The bar owners would use the information to hide their slot machines before the police arrived. It is almost common practice that police officers are involved in these illegal gambling operations.
It is not all officers that get involved with the wrong side of the law, but there are enough to make it a problem. People in authoritative positions like to believe that they are above the law because they are the law.
That is not the case, however. They are just ordinary people like everyone else, and when money is flashed in front of them, they have shown the ability to make the same poor choices as everyone else who gets involved with illegal gambling.
People do not get into the gambling business to become criminals. They get involved because the potential for making money is high. It matters not whether that person is a doctor, lawyer, manual labor worker, or a police officer.
