Former BetonSports.com CEO David Carruthers, who spent about 4 weeks in a United States federal jail on charges related to Internet Gambling and Sports Wagering, was freed on a $1 million bond today. He faces a 22-count indictment sought by St. Louis prosecutors for his role in BetonSports.com's accused wrongdoings in the United States.

U.S. District Judge Mary Ann Medler is preciding over the case and made the decision to allow Mr. Carruthers to go. Carruthers was CEO of the company until shortly after his arrest in Ft. Worth, Texas. He was then fired and forced to relinquish his position as chief executive of one of the best sportsbooks online.

For his part in the Internet Gambling case against him, he will be forced to wear an ankle bracelet until his trial begins and is not allowed to leave the United States.

According to his legal team, "Mr. Carruthers is looking forward to responding to these charges in court,". They also said he is happy to be out on bond.
