Former Gambling Cruise Ship Operator Pleads Guilty

null

Anthony Alan Scaglione, former owner and operator of the 'The Casino Del Mar', was charged with the misapplication of fiduciary property, a Texas state jail felony, according to court documents.

On May 11 Judge Arturo Cisneros placed Scaglione on two years probation, which a court official said would be transferred to Cook County, Ill. Also, Scaglione was fined $500.00 and ordered to pay restitution of $10,000 to former business partner Kennan Parrish, according to documents.

Parrish said he invested $20,200 for a share in Scaglione's business 'Great Finds' of Port Isabel.

The indictment against Scaglione accused him of "using Kennan Parrish's property contrary to an agreement under which (Scaglione) held property" and "inducing (Parrish) to enter into a contractual relationship when defendants knew or should have known the continuing viability of the business's was unlikely" with "the intent to harm or defraud" Parrish.

Parrish has told the Island Breeze he hopes to challenge the transfer of Scaglione's probation to Cook County, Ill.

Mr. Anthony Alan Scaglione was the former owner and operator of "The Casino Del Mar" gambling ship that was based and operated out of Port Isabel, Texas.

His wife, Dorothy Zema Hernandez Scaglione, is still outstanding and a fugitive from justice in this case. Along with the charges against her, she now has another charge of "Failure to Appear". Dorothy is still on the run as of today's date. She has also been know to use different variations of her last name(s) in order to confuse those who are looking for her.

If anyone has knowledge of her where abouts, they are urged to contact the local authorities, or contact the Cameron County Sheriff's Department in Brownsville, Texas at 956-554-6700.
