Gambling Raid Nets One Arrest On Marijuana Charge Near Waco
When the police set out in search of a person who has a warrant out for their arrest, they never quite know what they are going to stumble across. In Texas, there journey led them to an illegal gambling operation and a marijuana possession charge.
Police in Waco were looking for a man who had a warrant out on Thursday night and they received a tip of where they could find the man. When they arrived on the scene, they did not find the man, but instead a gambling operation where eight-liner gambling machines were being played.
The problem for the Waco officers was they did not have jurisdiction over the location because it was outside of their city limits. The sheriff's office was called in, and when they arrived the gaming machines were seized.
In all twenty-five gaming machines were taken. Authorities also confiscated a large amount of cash. The sheriff's office was not surprised by the findings, they had been watching the gambling operation for a long time.
None of the people who were involved with the gambling operation were arrested. They fled the scene when the police showed up. One person was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana that was less than two ounces. The man was released after posting bond.
