Huge Victory for Online Gambling Community as Dicks is Set Free

Sportsbook.com is the best place to wager this season!

Peter Dicks was freed to return home to London early Friday morning and Dicks, and the rest of the online gambling world, is rejoicing.

Although a warrant for Dicks' arrest is still active in the state of Louisanna the online gaming world is viewing his failed extradition from New York as a huge victory.

New York State Governor George Pataki refused to sign an order to extradite Dicks to Louisiana to face the charges against him because internet gambling is not explicitly illegal in New York and there were no merits for his arrest there. Pataki said the state laws did not permit extradition.

The Dicks case was being watched closely by the online gaming industry. If New York extradited Dicks to Louisanna to face the charges of illegal internet gambling executives all over the world would be fearful of ever visiting the United States again.

With New York withdrawing the priority to extradite Mr. Dicks a precedent has been set that says unless an executive is found in a state where a warrant is out for their arrest they will probably not be arrested and definately will not be extradited if they are.

Dicks was seen briefly after the hearing Friday and he appeared very excited to be free.

"I'm grateful," he said, adding that he would likely return home to England this weekend.
