Internet Gambling Executive Says Farewell to World Gaming
James Grossman, a former US attorney and special representative to the United Nations serving under George H.W. Bush, resigned today as chairman of the top internet gambling outfit World Gaming Plc. The resignation of Mr. Grossman comes as the industry faces severe unrest due to the arrest of several key executives over the past few months.
Most internet gambling executives have taken the smart approach and avoided making appearances in the US. Some have speculated that Mr. Grossman's longstanding ties to the US outweighed his position at World Gaming. With his resignation, it is believed that he may now move freely in and out of the US without risking arrest.
Mr. Grossman was the director of World Gaming Plc., a large internet gambling company whose customer-base is made up of 80% US citizens. Grossman held the top position at World Gaming for 3 years and was a potential target of US Federal Agents and the Department of Justice (DoJ).
World Gaming, Plc. is a publicly traded company listed on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM) and they have offices in Antigua, London and Vancouver. The company has not announced a replacement for Mr. Grossman yet.
