Tuesday was not a good day for a gambling operation that has been running out of an Atlanta warehouse for the past several years. A gambling raid took place and some of the biggest federal agencies in the US took part in the activity.

The IRS, FBI, and Atlanta police all were involved in a raid of what is considered a major gambling operation in the state. Not many people would comment on the bust, but those that did spoke of fancy upscale cars and odd operating hours at the gambling warehouse.

Once inside, authorities found blackjack and poker tables, and around twenty gambling machines. They confiscated the gambling paraphernalia, and they arrested around twenty people that were in the warehouse at the V.T. Tire Co. on Whitehall St. The owner of the building is going to be charged with operating an illegal gambling establishment and felony commercial gambling.

"This is not where this is going to stop," said Major Debra Williams, Atlanta Police Commander. Authorities believe that there are more of these operations being run in Atlanta, and they have vowed to seek them out and raid them as well.

Many people who either worked or lived near the warehouse have commented on the raid, but they all claim that there was never any problems coming from the warehouse. They could not speculate on what was going on inside, but there was the feeling that beat officers knew what was taking place.

The actual amounts of the payouts at the illegal gambling operation were unknown at the time of the raid, but officers did acknowledge that they were watching the warehouse for over a year before the raid on Tuesday.
