Local law officials say they contacted Petro on skill games
Top law enforcement officials around Muskingum County took exception to statements made by the Ohio Attorney General regarding skill games.Attorney General Jim Petro told the Times Recorder editorial board he was willing to launch an investigation into the skill game parlors springing up around the county, but he first had to be asked to do so by the prosecutor, sheriff or police chief.
"That's not right," Muskingum County Sheriff Bob Stephenson said. "I talked to people in his office last year and I've talked to his people within the past couple of weeks. I just can't seem to get a lot of response from them." Prosecutor Michael Haddox said he, too, has been in touch with Petro's office regarding the skill games. It's not only Muskingum County but the entire state that is now being splattered with games that some are calling illegal while others say they are "perfectly legal."
