More Pleads Guilty in Gambling Case
A Town of Highlands man, described by prosecutors as a high-ranking member of a $10 million Hudson Valley gambling ring, pleaded guilty yesterday in Orange County Court to attempted first-degree coercion. Roger Patterson pleaded guilty a week after he and eight other accused members of the organization surrendered in Highlands Town Court.
In court papers, prosecutors have said that Patterson answered to John Andriello of Nanuet, the leader of the crew, and Louis Pipolo of the Town of Newburgh. Andriello pleaded guilty Monday in County Court to a charge of first-degree promoting gambling, and agreed to forfeit $155,000 in ill-gotten gambling cash. Two other reputed members of the organization also pleaded guilty yesterday to gambling charges: Arthur Lepore of Maybrook, and Eva Patterson, who is Roger Patterson's wife.
