Add New Hampshire to the list of states that are considering gambling expansion. With many states in the US expanding their gambling options, New Hampshire will take their first step in that direction on Tuesday.

The Gaming Study Commission was created by Governor John Lynch for the purpose of studying the effects that expanded gambling would have on New Hampshire. The commission was instructed to take all factors into account, both positive and negative.

"What New Hampshire is doing is similar to what other states have done when it comes to casino gambling and other forms of gambling expansion," said Gaming Analyst Steve Schwartz, "They want to make sure that they cover all bases and are as meticulous as possible when it comes to exploring their options."

Massachusetts is another state that is currently going over the pros and cons of casino gambling expansion. In Massachusetts, several key lawmakers have lined up behind casino development. Governor Duval Patrick, House Speaker Robert DeLeo, and Senate President Therese Murray are all supporting casinos.

As for New Hampshire, the Gaming Study Commission will meet on Tuesday at the New Hampshire Higher Education Assistance Foundation Conference Center. The meeting will be held at 1:00 PM.

New Hampshire lawmakers are looking for a way to increase revenue for the state budget. Casino gambling has been a successful tool for many other states during the recession, and New Hampshire may become the next to do so, pending the findings of the commission.
