The time to lobby for one side of the casino gambling issue in Ohio is just about over. With less than a week until voters in Ohio decide the fate of casinos in the state, there still appears to be strong support in favor of casino gambling.

Issue 3 has been one of the most hotly debated in recent history in Ohio. For the first time ever, voters appear ready to finally make casino gambling legal. Polls over the past couple of months have indicated as much.

A new Ohio Newspaper Poll has been released and the figures are similar to what they were a month ago. Fifty-seven percent claim they will vote in favor of Issue 3. That figure is down just two percentage points from last month's poll.

The undecided voters may end up being the deciding factor. The poll indicated that thirty-nine percent were against the casino gambling. Last month, thirty-seven percent of those polled were against the issue.

The battle has been ongoing for many months between those in favor of casino gambling and those opposed. The pro-gambling group has spent nearly five times more money on educating the public on the issue than their anti0-gambling counterparts.

Ohio voters have had several opportunities in the past to legalize casinos, but have turned them away each time. Several factors have led to the idea that this time around, the issue will pass.

First, this is the most comprehensive and well-organized plan that has ever been presented. Second, the location of the four casinos would be key. Columbus, Toledo, Cincinnati, and Cleveland would all receive new casinos under the plan.
