Slot Machines Targeting Minors A Popular Practice In Peru
In the United States, slot machines are becoming more the mainstream around the country. One problem that does not exist, however, is companies targeting minors with these machines.
This is a problem that has been occurring in Peru for several years. Slot machines being built with the specific intention of targeting minors.
The government has been trying to rid the country of these machines, but it has taken much time and effort to find where the machines are being placed. They are currently all over the country.
This year alone, the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism has confiscated 781 slot machines. They have come from areas such as Puente Piedra, Barranco, San Martin de Porres, Villa Maria Del Triunfo, and Rimac, just to name a few.
From July 2007 to June 2008, 1,665 machines that were made specifically for minors were confiscated. The year before 2,433 were confiscated. While the number is dropping, it still is too high for the government.
They would like to rid the entire country of these machines. They did state that the machines were being used less in the Andean country. They are asking anyone that can help to please inform them of places that are using these machines for minors.
