Sporting Bet Peter Dicks Extradition Hearing Sept. 28th

Peter Dicks, the former Sporting Bet Chairman who was apprehended recently in New York and charged with various Internet gambling violations, must return to the U.S.A. on September 28th for a brief hearing on a motion to extradite him to the Gulf State of Louisiana.

A New York City criminal court judge decided that Peter Dicks, who resigned as chairman of the UK-based online gambling firm Sportingbet.com Plc earlier in the day Thursday, can depart the U.S.A. and return to the UK, before heading back for his September 28th hearing.

The arrest of Peter Dicks in New York City originally had many UK traders, industry analysts, and speculators fearing the worst, but as more and more details are released, it seems that Peter Dicks may not be in that much trouble. After all, he was arrested by New York City Port Authority Police, not by federal agents from the FBI. His ability to move freely back to the UK is another great sign for his possibilities, whereas David Carruthers was put on house arrest and not allowed to leave the US when he was arrested on similiar charges by the Feds last July.
