Swann gets Cash Bonus from GOP group
Gubernatorial challenger Lynn Swann's campaign coffers were bolstered by a major cash infusion from the Republican Governors Association in the last month, but he still lags far behind Gov. Rendell in the race for donor dollars.Campaign records released yesterday show Swann raised just under $1.3 million in the last 35 days, boosted by a $250,000 donation from the Washington-based Republican Governors Association.
The contributions bring the total amount in Swann's bank account to nearly $2.4 million.Rendell raised almost $1.4 million in the same period, leaving him with about $13.6 million in the bank - almost six times as much as Swann. And that total is after Rendell spent nearly $3 million last month on his first television campaign ads.
