Talladega County Tightens Restrictions On Gambling Machines warned
Talladega County's clampdown on gambling machines will not surprise many because sheriff's deputies have given businesses advance warning. Convenience store owners this week were informed to remove all gambling machines within a week, Chief Deputy Jimmy Kilgore said, following orders from the district attorney's office. District Attorney Steve Giddens said casino gambling machines making a comeback in the county give players chances to win prizes.
"I've had several people say to me that these machines are not casino gambling devices under state law, but they are," Giddens told the Daily Home for a story Friday. Giddens said disconnecting the machine isn't enough. They must be removed from the business or risk being seized by deputies, he said.
