Twenty Four Hour Gambling Coming To Colorado Casinos In July
Colorado gamblers were sick and tired of having to leave their casinos at 2:00 AM. They also had enough of small wagering limits, so they did what they could to have the rules changed.
Cripple Creek casinos will be the first in the state to expand their operating hours and betting limits after voters approved both measures. The new operating hours will be twenty four hours and the limits will be raised to $100 from $5.
In addition to the new hours and limits, the people of Cripple Creek will also be able to experience new casino games. Craps and roulette will be added to the casinos. Gold Digger's Casino and the Gold Rush Hotel and Casino will immediately begin planning for the changes.
While they are exciting changes, they will not go into effect until July of next year. That gives the casinos over six months to prepare for the new games and limits. They also will need to expand staff to accommodate the twenty four hour gaming.
Another key aspect of the measure is that state regulators will not be allowed to raise taxes on casinos. In order to do so, they will need an affirmative vote throughout the state of Colorado.
Colorado is moving in the same direction as other states when it comes to expanded casino gambling. Several states expanded their gambling laws in the November election.
