UK and World to Work Out Regulations for Internet Gaming
A meeting will be held in Ascot, Berkshire to discuss and debate plans for regulating for the internet gambling community.
The event will be lead by UK Culture Secretary Tessa Jowell. She criticized the United States government last week for passing legislation that she believes heads the world in the direction of 'speak easies', as she put it, which will run illegitimate practices that may harm visitors.
So while the US goes one way, the UK is headed in an entirely different, and a much more culturally progressive direction.
The agenda for the summit to take place at Ascot will focus on such issues as how to keep children and problem gamblers out of the regulated online casinos. The UK also has plans to only give approval to internet gambling sites that abide by the strict rules to be set forth.
One such rule may be that all high ranking officials of the casinos will be investigated for ties with organized crime. Any casino to be found not abiding by any of the strict rules set forth for them will not be approved.
Representatives and politicians from more than thirty different countries from all over the world will be attending the progressive event.
