Voters in Texas Claiming Machines Favoring Republicans
Early voters are already complaining about corrupt machines in the Republican dominated state of Texas. The voters complaining claim that the voting machines' touch screen displays are not working properly and are favoring Republican candidates.
Some of those voters including Lamar University professor, Dr. Bruce Drury, believe the problem is a programming error, although probably not intentional, it is an error nonetheless.
One voter, who local station KFDM in Jefferson County, spoke to said that when he voted Democrat the Republican name became highlighted.
"There's something in these machines, in this equipment, that's showing Republican votes when you vote for Democrats," Stopher said. The clerk supervisor running the voters booths, Carolyn Guidry, told Stopher it was probably just because his finger accidentally hit the other candidate that the error occurred, but Stopher insists he used the machine correctly.
KFDM also reported earlier in the week that they spoke with people who had cast straight Democratic ticket ballots, but when they touched the Democratic button the monitor indicated a straight Republican ticket.
Guidry pointed out that was important that voters carefully review their choices and make any changes necessary before pressing the vote button.
