Walker Arrested For Gambling Debt While In A Nevada Casino
Antoine Walker should have seen this coming. On Wednesday, a warrant was issued for his arrest after he failed to pay back casino gambling markers in three Las Vegas casinos. On Thursday, Walker was arrested at another Nevada casino.
Walker is accused of not paying back hundreds of thousands of dollars in gambling markers from three different Vegas casinos. He wrote checks that eventually bounced, which prompted the law to get involved.
Most people after being accused of something relating to casino gambling, may have stayed out of casinos for a while. Walker, however, was back at Harrah's Casino on Thursday when police handcuffed him and escorted him out of the casino.
"This would have to be up there on the dumbest things a person could do," said observer Jerry Gload, "didn't he (Walker) think that maybe someone would alert the police if he showed up in a casino? It just doesn't make any sense."
Then again, the entire story has yet to make much sense to most people. Walker made $100 million in his playing career, more than enough money to handle the debt he owes the three casinos. Whether he has any of his fortune left will now be a question many will seek an answer to.
Bail has been set for Walker at $87,000. While Walker still owes the casinos money, he has paid some of the debt back, according to Prosecutor Bernie Zadrowski. He told the Las Vegas Sun that $178,000 had been repaid by Walker.
