With 2009 Beginning, Florida Turns To Powerball Lottery Gambling
The Powerball lottery game is one that is enjoyed by many states. One of the states that will be enjoying the game in the new year will be Florida.
The Sunshine State has recently added Powerball to the list of lottery options that they offer. Not only are they joining the Powerball crowd, they are becoming the central state in the games operation.
"Having Florida be the home of Powerball was merely icing on the cake. We asked for it, we negotiated with the other states, and they readily agreed. They saw the potential of first, having Florida in Powerball, and secondly, understanding how having the drawing located in the state offered an incredible array of tourism, promotional and marketing opportunities," said Florida Lottery Secretary Leo DiBenigno.
DiBenigno was referring to the fact that Florida will be the place where the drawing for Powerball will be held. The drawing up until now had been held in Iowa, but that will all change with Florida entering the picture.
The first drawing for Floridians to participate in Powerball will be held on Wednesday January, 7th. The tickets will go on sale for that drawing on Sunday.
