Woman Wins Judgement Against Dennis Rodman In Casino Firing Case
Dennis Rodman has never been a stranger to controversy. He created a stir almost everywhere he went when he was playing basketball and even after he retired. Now, he will be a little lighter in the pocket because of his behavior.
Sara Ure, a former employee of the Hard Rock Hotel Casino in Las Vegas, has won a judgement against Rodman for what she claims was inappropriate behavior by the former NBA superstar. The judgement was in the sum of $225,000.
Rodman had his chance to fight the lawsuit that was brought on by Ure, but he failed to respond. That allowed U.S. District Judge Robert Jones to approve a motion for a default judgement. Rodman's actions were considered inappropriate by Ure's lawyers.
"Defendant Rodman injured and humiliated Ms. Ure at her place of employment," said attorneys Kathleen England and Jocelyn Cortez in their motion for the default judgement, "Which is simply one of the latest incidents in an almost decade-long practice of violence and blatant disregard for the safety of others."
Ure contends that Rodman grabbed her and forced her to dance with him. he also slapped her bottom. Ure said she complained to the Hard Rock and was told Rodman would not be allowed back. soon after Rodman was once again back at the establishment, and when Ure complained, she was fired.
