The American idol season is quickly coming to an end and with only four contestants remaining, it is time to look at who the odds makers believe will win. Crystal Bowersox and Lee Dewyze are currently the gambling favorites.

Bowersox and Dewyze are joined by Michael Lynche and Casey James, comprising the final four. Lynche was close to being eliminated last week, but was saved when seventeen year old Aaron Kelly was sent packing.

Lynche has been in trouble several times throughout the show. He actually was already eliminated once by fans, but the judges used their one time only save to keep Lynche on the show. In the past couple of weeks, Lynche has enjoyed some of the shows best critiques from the judges, but he still appears on shaky ground with the public.

Bowersox has been a judge and fan favorite since the beginning of the season. She currently has odds of -160, making her the betting favorite. Bowersox has been able to draw support from all demographics, and should be a lock to make it to the finals, barring a lack of voter participation like what happened a few years ago with Chris Daughtry.

James is one of the dark horses in the competition. Last week, the judges slammed his song choice, but somehow he beat out Kelly in fan voting. It would take a couple of unbelievable performances for him to survive the next two weeks. James has betting odds of +1400, making him the second to last choice behind Lynche, whose odds are +1600.

Dewyze is another of the fan favorites, and he is clearly the male vocalist that is appealing most to voters. Many analysts believe that Dewyze is a lock to face off against Bowersox in the final. Dewyze currently has even odds to win the competition.
