American Idol Betting Odds Down To Lambert And Allen
In what is turning out to be one of the closest American Idol finishes of all time, the show heads for home tonight when the final two contestants compete head to head. Adam Lambert is the favorite, but Kris Allen has plenty of fans.
Lambert has been the favorite for most of the season. He started as a dark horse, but quickly moved to the top of odds makers' lists. He has been selling his rock grunge style of vocals to the entire country and is a favorite of the judges as well.
Allen has taken a different path to the finals. He has been flying under the radar for almost the entire season, and may have saved his best for last when he pulled off a Kanye West song with simply his voice and acoustic guitar.
Last week, Ryan Seacrest announced that only one million votes separated the Allen and Lambert, but he did not say which one of the contestants had more votes. The public believes that Lambert is the front runner, but with a large teenage girl following, Allen easily could be the leader going into tonight.
The official betting odds have Lambert between a -220 and -300 favorite, depending on the sports book. Allen is more that +200 in most sports books. That means that the odds makers believe Lambert is the choice of the people, gamblers at least.
Allen began the season at +3000 to win. That leaves many gamblers who believed in him from the start to profit greatly should he pull the upset.
