Britney Spears : An Online Gambling Site's Dream
Britney Spears and her stardom have been the inspiration for more than one online gambling promotion over the past several years. We have reported on Britney Spears popping up in the face of the online gambling community at least three times in the past four months alone.
Golden Palace was the first to take advantage of Britney Spears' fame by buying a positive pregnancy stick supposedly from Briney's first pregnancy, and the headlines across the world read, 'Online Casino Buys Britney Spears Pregnancy Stick'. The eye-catching headline brought in millions of hits to the online casino which led them to buy another Spears item later in the year. The next headline read 'Online Casino Gets Invitation to Britney's Wedding'. Then they bought a half-eaten sandwich supposedly eaten by the American pop star.
But Golden Palace was not the only online gambling site taking advantage of Britney's popularity. Online sportsbooks also have taken advantage of Spears' fame. In the past they have placed betting lines on whether she was or was not really pregnant, on whether she would or would not get married, on when she would choose to get married, on where she would get married, on when she would get divorced, and now bets are being placed on who she will date first after her divorce.
Britney isn't the only star online casinos and sportsbooks are making money off of, they will jump on any situation that pop culture is interested in, such as the Dancing With the Stars show, and even the American mid-term elections, but the sensuous superstar certainly is the most consistent celebrity that the online gambling community takes advantage of and as long as they are around they will surely continue to do so.
