Chris Medina A Contestant That Attracts American Idol Gamblers

USA Players Accepted at Rome Casino!

Every year since online sports books started offering betting odds on American Idol, gamblers have looked for feel good story's that could help them in their decision making process of who to bet on. This year, that feel good story arrived on television Wednesday evening.

Chris Medina tried out for the show in Wisconsin, and that was the city that was featured on American Idol Wednesday. Medina walked in and the story was told about how he has been with his girlfriend for eight years and they have been engaged for two. In October of 2009, Juliana was in a car accident and came away with brain damage.

Medina stayed with his fiance, and along with her mother, became a caretaker of Julie. On the Idol audition, Medina wowed the judges and they sent him through to Hollywood. If he should have a good week in Hollywood, odds makers may make him a betting favorite simply because of his story.

"In the past, bettors and fans have flocked to contestants that had great voices and an inspiring story. Two years ago it was Danny Gokey, and this year it very well could be Chris Medina," said American idol fan Willow Burns. "I liked what I saw of Medina tonight, and he definitely is one of my favorites so far."

American Idol has produced some of the biggest betting upsets in the past decade at online sports books. Two years ago, Kris Allen went from being a 60-1 long shot to winning the competition. Last year, it was Lee DeWyze that started with high odds and eventually became the winner.

The audition shows will go on for several more weeks, and then Hollywood week will be shown. After Hollywood week, the finalists will begin the live shows and at that time the odds makers will develop betting lines on all the remaining contestants.
