Gambling On American Idol Coming Down To The Male Vocalists
American Idol usually becomes pretty predictable at this point in the competition. Favorites have already been established and outside of Chris Daughtry being eliminated earlier than expected a few years ago, the script usually goes as planned.
This year, with only five contestants left, anyone gambling on the competition should be looking towards the male vocalists for a winner. Allison Iraheta has been great, but she also has been in the bottom three several times and may not have the fan support that the others possess.
Adam Lambert is still the overwhelming betting favorite. He has odds of -300 to win this year, and those odds have gone up each of the past few weeks.
Danny Gokey may be the contestant that has the best shot to overtake Lambert. He is currently the second choice at +400, which is not necessarily good for Gokey since he was the favorite when the competition began.
Kris Allen is the singer who has come the farthest as far as the betting odds are concerned. Allen began the competition with odds up around 30-1, and they have dropped all the way to 7.5-1 this week. He has not been in danger of being eliminated since the early weeks.
Matt Giraud received a reprieve a couple of weeks ago when the judges saved him after fans voted him off the show. With no remaining judges saves available, it would be surprising if Giraud made it through another week.
